Unit 2 · Level 2 · Journaling

The review cadence

A journal nobody reviews is just a sad diary with numbers in it. The value is in the ritual: a weekly review of maybe thirty minutes for process, and a monthly one for statistics. Pilots debrief after flights; football teams watch the match tape on Monday. Same idea: the game is too fast to learn from while you're playing it.

What you get asked

  1. Run the weekly review ritual in order

One pattern, one fix, then stop. Traders who rewrite their whole system every Friday never find out whether any version of it worked.

  2. In review, which trade deserves the HARDEST look?

A profitable rule-break is a slot machine payout: the lesson your brain records is 'breaking rules pays'. Catch it in review before it compounds.

  3. Review weekly for process, monthly for ___.

A week of trades is too few to compute anything meaningful, but a month starts to show win rate, average R, and where the leaks are.

  4. Why shouldn't you change your rules right after a single painful trade?

Every system loses sometimes; that's variance, not verdict. Scheduled reviews are the firewall between one bad night and a perfectly good rulebook.

  5. What makes the review a RITUAL rather than a chore you'll quietly drop?

Same coffee, same Sunday slot, same five steps: friction design from Unit 1, applied to the habit that powers everything else. 🐜
