Unit 3 · Level 2 · Environment design
The body keeps the score
Every trade you take is decided by a brain in a body, and that body keeps the score. In lab studies, staying awake around 17-19 hours impairs performance roughly like a 0.05% blood-alcohol level: legally tipsy in much of Europe. Stress narrows thinking toward short-term relief, which in trading means closing winners early and holding losers. This isn't wellness fluff; it's the hardware your system runs on.

What you get asked
Per research, what does being awake ~18 hours straight roughly do to your performance?
You'd never trade after three beers, yet 'one more late session' produces a similar brain. Judgment degrades first, and judgment is the whole job.
Sleep-deprived trading is impaired trading: you wouldn't trade drunk, so don't trade ___.
Same impairment, better PR. If the night was short, that's a smaller-size day or a no-trade day. Put it in your if-then plans.
Match the body state to its trading consequence
None of this requires believing anything mystical. The brain is an organ; organs have operating conditions.
What's the honest version of 'biohacking your trading performance'?
The unglamorous stuff has the strongest evidence and costs nothing. Anyone selling you a €200 'trader stack' should first ask how you slept.
Rough week: a breakup, two bad nights of sleep, a work deadline. The market looks great. What does environment design say?
The market will still be there next week; your edge might not survive this one. Reducing size when the hardware is degraded IS the system working. 🐜
